The inaugural Little Branches, Rural Roots Library Conference will take place at the Arnprior Public Library on October 4 and 5, 2019. The steering committee (including four CEOs from single branch libraries in Renfrew County) has been tailored to meet the needs of small, rural libraries in Ontario following the abrupt cancellation of OLS North’s annual conference due to funding cuts.
Registration opens August 1! Author visits, sessions and workshops will cover topics such as:
- Fundraising
- Friends Groups
- Podcasting for small libraries
- Processing and mending
- Employee engagement
- Interlibrary Loan roundtable
- Dealing with mental health issues in a rural setting
- Youth services
In addition, participants will have a chance to take an historical/haunted walk through the streets of Arnprior, attend a wine tasting/trivia night and network!
Check the conference website for updates on session details and general conference information! You can also follow the conference on Twitter—we will soon be posting regularly.
