We take to heart the responses from Ontario Library Association (OLA) community members to the Open Shelf column Safe Spaces, and specifically the most recent post on race and privilege.
Lights, action, baubles and bells … the holidays are a time when we decorate to celebrate. Here’s a taste of some of the ways that library staff are making their libraries festive for patrons (and themselves).
The first video (on the left) features photos from two school libraries and two university libraries courtesy of regular Open Shelf contributors Jennifer Brown, Jennifer Dekker, and Kasey (Mallen) Whalley as well as InsideOCULA co-editor-in-chief Rob Makinson. Building a holiday book tree comes to us courtesy of Mike Reynolds at the Carleton University Library.
We are happy to add more images to the “Good tidings” slide show—if we receive them by December 20.
